Encounters with the Risen Lord, II Mary in the Garden
Once you've eaten the ears off the bunny, does it seem like Easter is pretty much over? Does it also seem it shouldn't be that way? This past Sunday was the 2nd Sunday of Easter, sometimes called Low Sunday because it marks the end of Easter Week or the Octave of Easter. (Pundits remark that the term "low" refers to the attendance at church on this day). In ancient times, people went to church every day that week and the various Resurrection appearances were read aloud, so everyone heard them. Over time, however, that practice faded beyond our remembrance, and only a couple of the stories are read on the Sundays after Easter.
This year, let us revisit that ancient practice of telling all the stories as we "linger with the Risen Lord." That was my invitation to you. Thank you for accepting it and joining me in these marvelous stories. This week, we enter the scene with Mary Magdalene...(27 min)

Encounters with the Risen Lord, III The Road to Emmaus
May you travel in an awakened way,
Gathered wisely from your inner ground;
That you may not waste the invitations
Which wait along the way to transform you.
John O'Donohue
Every journey holds within it the promise of encounter. The Holy can overwhelm on our morning commute as surely as in an exotic port. It has to do with open eyes, recognizing the Holy when it arrives. We are all of us on the Road to Emmaus. (26 min)

Encounters With the Risen Lord, IV Thomas and the Upper Room
Seeing is believing...right?
At last Jesus appears to his closest followers--but one of them is missing. Join us now in the Upper Room where faith and doubt, peace and fear all co-exist: (26 min)

Encounters With the Risen Lord, V By the Sea of Galilee
After various stages of belief and disbelief, the disciples have seen for themselves the risen Jesus. They are left to ponder, especially Peter, "What does it all mean?" Once again they meet at the Sea of Galilee where Jesus has prepared a meal for them. He extends to Peter an opportunity to reconcile as he asks, "Simon Peter, do you love me?" (30 min.)
May 13th
Encounters With the Risen Lord, VI The Ascension
We have journeyed together through this Easter season and have at last arrived at the Ascension. If you have not experienced any other ENCOUNTER WITH THE RISEN LORD, all of them, or only a few, this is the one you really must open.
